The penetration rate of television in Spain last year was 93% in people over 64 years of age. However, among individuals aged 14-34 years the penetration rate was below 80%.

One of the reasons why younger people watch television less is that they prefer to watch series, programs or movies over the Internet. Many users opt for services such as Netflix or HBO , however, others access through pirated pages.

Going back to school brings back the good deals.
However, the younger population has not neglected television: a majority continue to watch what the different networks offer them. Regardless of age, conventional television programming can be scarce. For this reason, there are online television services that are free and that allow users to access a greater variety of channels.

Although these services have the disadvantage of being full of advertising , there are enough who resort to them to have a wide list of programs. These services are usually available on web pages, in mobile applications or in special Smart TV apps .

The most popular platforms with free channels are Pluto TV, Tivify, Rlaxx TV, Plex TV or Rakuten TV . In all of them, the contents of the channels they offer range from classic movies, to reality shows, through series or programs for all tastes.
