Magdalena Lewy-Boulet proved that she is more than just a marathoner on Thursday evening, running a massive personal best in the 10,000 meters at the USA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Her fifth place effort in a time of 31:48.58 shaved nearly 32 seconds off her previous best time run at USA’s in 2009. The mark was just short of the ‘A’ standard of 31:45.00.
The Saucony-sponsored pro and member of the Bay Area Track Club will focus on the track this summer and run several 1500 and 5000 meter races in Europe.
Watch Lewy-Boulet speak to Flotrack’s Ryan Fenton about Thursday’s race and the difficult emotional recovery from the London Marathon.
