Arkansas senior Shelise Williams won the 400 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays this afternoon. Her time of 52.12 seconds is the second-fastest time in the quarter-mile in the NCAA so far this outdoor season. The graduate of Long Beach Wilson High School in Southern California bettered her own mark of 52.20 seconds run earlier this season at the LSU Invitational.
Williams was a late entry into the event and proceeded to run away from the field in the seventh and slowest heat of the 400.
Williams was a 2011 All-American indoors in the 400 meters, a race in which she took eighth place.
