After winning the 3000 meters at the European Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday, Mo Farah will be making the full-time move to Portland, Oregon to train with the Alberto Salazar-led group.  He will reunite with training partner Galen Rupp as both will be running the New York City Half Marathon on March 20.

The 3k race at the Euro Championships was an exciting one.  Farah led for the majority of the 15-lap affair, holding off a strong charge over the last 200 meters from Hayle Ibrahimov of Azerbaijan.  Find the entire race video here.

Farah was spotted wearing Nike Zoom Victory spikes during his win, signaling the completion of his move from previously being an Adidas-sponsored pro to now being a member of the Nike Oregon Project.  There was previously speculation over whether Farah would be forced to nullify his contact with Three Stripes in order to join Salazar’s group.

Farah’s status as one of the main Brit hopes for a track and field medal has led to his move being highly profiled by the British press, including the infamous tabloids.  The Sun, for instance, published a significant piece on his statements about his post-2012 future in the marathon.  Find that story here.  It will be interesting to see how the pressure will play on Farah’s performance in the next two years.
